In 2017 we the ‘Church’ (Universal), have arrived at a junction in our history and what is facing us for our future as the witness of Christ to the world. We are living in the time that Paul the Apostle foretold of in, 2Th_2:3 of a ‘great falling away’ of Believers from the truth of the Bible.

Like those eggs, we have become “over-easy”, runny on the inside, soft through a comfortable Gospel that has led us to living a compromising lifestyle. Torched just a little on the outside to make us palatable and not raw to looks, taste and touch, but yet left runny on the inside. By large most Believers and their places of worship have fallen away from the truth of God’s Word. They have established a Christian lifestyle that steers away from the offenses and challenges of the raw Word of God. That one Christ never steered from, that offended those who He knew needed truth more than a word of comfort.

Today Believers avoid at all cost any ‘word’, church, minister that offends or challenges their lifestyle, as runny on the inside as it is. Any true leader of God worth his/her salt, is not out to make you comfortable at the expense of God’s truth. Rather following in the footsteps of their predecessor and ‘spiritual-father’ Paul the Apostle, will seek above all things to bring the truth of God’s Word to your understanding and heart. John 8:32 Jesus says it is the truth that sets you free, not a lie. Believer anything other than the raw truth is a lie and will not, cannot set you free.

I wonder tearfully how many Believers live in captivity of a lie, failing to realize they are missing out on their freedom and fullness in Christ Jesus. Too many of us truth is our enemy, when it should be our closest friend and ally. Refuse to be an “over easy” Believer, and allow God’s truth to set you free. Find a ‘church’, a pastor (Spiritual-father) that is more concerned with your spiritual and overall wellness than your desire, comforts, ambitions, opinions, money, and talents and so on.

Follow a ‘father’ that is more concerned with chastising you than stroking your ego and pet gospels. Find a Man-Of-God like Paul the apostle who is willing to die for you and to tell you the truth, no matter how much it hurts. A father who loves you for who you are and not for what you have. The Gospel is Good News, but news to set you free not keep you in captivity. Sometimes it has to be hard in its revelations to the heart in order to break through the deceptions we have built our faith and lives on. Hebrews 4:12 is clear in the work of the Word of God. But we don’t like radical surgical procedures, no we prefer bandages and soft ointment, hoping it will work and avoid all that pain and discomfort.
