Desiring God; The importance of a worshiping Godly family
Jesus in the New Testament gives us only two big commandments and those are very important when it comes to corporate worship on a Sunday

morning. These love commandments are the following.
Love and worship God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength
Paul said do not neglect the fellowship of your brothers. There are a lot of reasons why Paul has said these words to us as believers but when we connect these words to this commandment of Jesus and to love worship towards God the biggest reason is oneness in spirit.
There is anointing in corporate worship, and then only if there is unity in those gathering for a single-minded and spirited Kingdom direction. When we assemble and not only on Sundays, but every time we gather together in His Name, there needs to be a oneness in the Spirit. As sons and daughters we can have so much more of God in the corporate-body, but it is all going to come down to one focus. Love and worship your God with one heart as a Family of God.
Love your neighbour as yourself
This is the second commandment Jesus gave, and when I read this God showed me something amazing. When we understand this verse fully it has the ability to change our lives. God showed me that if we arrive with a pure heart and the right Kingdom mind-set to church every Sunday and if we take this verse of ‘love your brother as yourself’, then that what we are bringing on a Sunday is the measure of the love that we have for our neighbour and our spiritual family. Why am I saying this? Well the Word says we are the Body of Christ and the one cannot function without the other. So what measure of love you bring to a time of worship, is the measure you as part of the Body impart to those around you. It is the measure of love worship you are willing to give to God so that those around you may be affected by the God you know.
David Mathis said this in his one article.;
“We must make sure that the greatest commandments has priority above all. God must be the first and foremost and uncompromisingly central figure on a Sunday morning. It is impossible to make corporate worship into a mere event without Jesus. Corporate worship must rather be that we know that God is the gloriously, wonderfully supreme focus in corporate worship. We come together every Sunday to receive God and to run after Him. We arrive ready to feed our souls on the banquet of all He is and does for us”.
The key of this is that we arrive ready. When we as a family come together for worship, we need to arrive ready, not get ready for it when you are there. Think about it this way, we say worship is a love offering before God then why are we then making God wait while we set the table and get the food ready and clean before we feast at His table with Him. We will never do this to someone we love truly, before they arrive the table will be set perfectly, the candles will be alight and food ready to serve. This is how our hearts need to be every Sunday. We need to be ready to serve Him our Guest at our Table laid for Him.
When Jesus turned the water into wine, He told them to fill the barrels with water and Jesus did the miracle. But every one of His disciples had listened and brought something, they were ready with the water and the miracle came. The question we need to ask when we get to a Godly meeting are we ready with the water, because if you are not you will miss God’s miracle in your life.
Just think about this; whatever you bring to a Sunday meeting or any Kingdom meeting, will not only affect your life but those who are with you as well and by the measure you have sown surely you will reap. So what are we brining as a seed for corporate love worship every Sunday? Because this will determine our harvest in that very same meeting. Let’s raise the level of love worship to God.
