In Matt 5:1-12 Jesus delivers His very well known Sermon on the Mount. He is teaching his "apprentices" (Message Bible) that being in a bad situation can sometimes be the best place to be. Troubles and persecution leads us to a better and deeper relationship with God if we look at them with the right attitude. Having the right attitude is what makes or breaks a situation. In the Sunday school we have been teaching and learning about the importance of having a good attitude, or as we call it a Bee- attitude.
Being humble versus proud. Being comforting versus mean. Being content versus ungrateful. Ext. We are using the the life of bees, how they work and live as a method to teach and understand the beatitudes. Wordplay, metaphors and pictures help children to understand difficult truths in the bible. Our bee hive is a picture of the kingdom of God and all the little bees have different attitudes. Humble, mourning and so on.
The ones with the bee- attitudes inherit the kingdom of God! We invite you to come take a look at what the children are doing after the service. Blessings Sharné
